Note:
- Never wear make-up on the day of your treatment.
- Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or hydroxy acids 5-7 day prior to the treatment.
- Avoid IPL/Laser procedure for at least 2 weeks prior to the service.
- No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5 days prior to the treatment.
- Avoid unprotected sun exposure or sunburn at least 1 week before treatment.
- Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting & more significant results will become visible after 3 to 6 treatments.
- Nano-needling is much less invasive than microneedling. It doesn't require any numbing cream & has zero downtime with long lasting results.
- Nano-needling is safe to perform between microneedling 'top ups' sessions.
- It can be used as a one-off treatment & it can be performed every 1-2 weeks.
- Usually a course of 3-6 treatments in 1-2 week intervals are recommended with maintenance treatments every 1-3 months.
- Ideally patients should utilize medical grade at home skin care products to further enhance results.
- Results & the response to treatment varies from person to person.
- Some people experience mild redness, flushing & tightness which will subside after a few hours.
- As with the use of any product, there is a small risk of a reaction to the mesotherapy products.
Contraindications to Nano-needling Therapy:
- Anti-ageing injections, botox & other injectables (1 week before & minimum 2 weeks after injections.)
- Dermal fillers (2 weeks before & 2 weeks after the dermal fillers are inserted.)
- Facial surgery (You must wait until the skin has fully recovers. Usually, 6 months is a safe estimate & full clearance from your GP has been given.)
- Keloid
- Haemophiliacs & other blood dissorders
- Recently had invasive treatments such as laser treatment (You will need to wait until the skin fully recovers.)
- Anticoagulants
- Active cold sores. We highly recommend a course of anti-viral medication pre & post treatment. This will prevent an outbreak of cold sores if you are prone to them. Cold sores can also break out on people who are not prone to them, but who have sensitive skin. Prophylactic antiviral medication taken 3-7 days before the procedure can help reduce the risk of an outbreak.
- Active acne
- Pregnancy & breastfeeding
- Skin disease (Anyone suffering from any type of skin disease would be a contraindication to skin needling.)
- Acne medication (If you are currently being prescribed acne medication it is best to avoid skin needling as these drugs have a skin thinning effect
- Poor health (Anyone that is under medical care for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, suffers from a compromised immune system & is generally considered to be a poor healer would be contraindicated.)
Post treatment advice:
- Avoid wearing makeup & touching the skin for 24 hours.
- Avoid sweaty exercise, saunas & swimming for at least 48 hours after treatment.
- Avoid immediately using any active skin care (including AHA/BHA's, exfoliants, Vitamin A, Retinol, etc) for at least 3-5 days.
- Avoid facial products containing fragrance for 48 hours after treatments as these may irritate the skin.
- Make up can be applied once the skin has settled, but ensure all brushes & sponges have been cleaned.
- Refrain from extreme temperatures such as intensive sun light, saunas, sunbed, steam bath for a period of at least 10 days after treatment.
- Apply a sunscreen with an SPF30+ on a daily basis.
- Avoid electrolysis, waxing, bleaching, depilatory creams, laser hair removal for at least 72 hours.
- Please report any concerns to your therapist as soon as possible or seek medical attention.
