RADIOFREQUENCY MICRONEEDLING
Radiofrequency microneedling, otherwise known as RF microneedling, combines two of the most effective skin rejuvenation treatments, radiofrequency & microneedling and has often been referred to as the ‘non-surgical face lift’ due to its impressive collagen-inducing & highly effective tightening results.
Microneedling involves creating controlled, tiny injuries to the skin using small needles, which stimulates the body's healing process & encourages the production of collagen and elastin. RF microneedling takes this a step further by introducing radiofrequency energy, which delivers heat into the deeper layers of the skin, enhancing the overall effect. This dual approach is effective for addressing wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, skin laxity, stretch marks, cellulite, open pores & improving skin texture overall.

The radiofrequency energy, directs heat to the more superficial dermis and epidermis via tiny needles within the applicator hand piece, with the device applying a slight vacuum to the skin to ensure better contact and a more precise depth of penetration. As radiofrequency heats the underlying layers, it triggers collagen & elastin production and cellular renewal, creating a symphony of skin tightening and lifting. The micro-injuries from microneedling & the thermal trauma from radiofrequency work in tandem to supercharge the body’s natural healing response, leading to enhanced results and a smoother, stronger complexion. It is designed to target various areas of the body, including the face, neck, decollete, upper arms, hands, bra roll, abdomen, thighs, flanks, buttocks & above the knees.
RF microneedling offers several benefits non-invasively for anyone seeking skin rejuvenation and improvement in various skin concerns, including:

Loose & sagging skin on face & body
Fine lines & wrinkles
Scar tissue, stretch marks & acne scars
Large pores
Uneven skin tone & texture
Sun damaged skin
Cellulite Reduction

- Alcohol, aspirin, Ibuprofen & range of dietary supplements including St. Johns Wort, fish oils, Gingko Biloba, Vitamins C & E may all contribute to bruising and are best avoided 24 hours before treatment.
- It is recommended that sel-tanning products are not used on the treatment area in the weeks before treatment & for 2 to 3 weeks after treatment as the possible flaking of the skin following treatment may lead to patchiness of the self-tan.
- Treatment cannot be administered if there is an active skin infection, including acne or cold sores or if you are unwell - including colds, coughs, sore throats etc. Do contact the salon to discuss any illness or new medicines prior to attending.
- Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. The optimum result is achieved over a course of treatments and over a period of months. Depending on the treatment indications a course of 3 - 6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is usually recommended. Most patients report a noticeable improvement after the first two weeks and report skin feels smoother, softer and looks fresher, but the real changes occur from about 12 weeks. Skin quality continues to improve for up to 9 months and a top up treatment is recommended every 12 to 18 months.
- New collagen laid down should last for a period of 5-7 years making RF microneedling a very long-lasting treatment.
- It can be used as a one-off treatment. Usually a course of 3-6 treatments in 4-6 week intervals are recommended with maintenance treatments every 12-18 months.
- Results & the response to treatment varies from person to person.
- Reaction from treatment include: skin redness & flushing, tightness, itching, tenderness, dryness, stinging or swelling.
- Effects will usually typically resolve within hours & many people are able to return to their normal activities the same or next day.
